Common questions
What is an "engagement" on the Starter plan?
An engagement is one client–year combination. Preparing a statutory audit for Company A for FY 2024-25 is one engagement. The same company in FY 2025-26 is a second engagement. The Starter plan allows up to 10 such engagements per year.
Can I upgrade mid-subscription?
Yes. Upgrades are prorated instantly. You pay only the difference for the remaining days of your billing cycle. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal date.
Is the Form 3CD JSON export really portal-ready?
Yes. The JSON is generated per Income Tax Department Schema v2.2. You download it and upload directly on the IT portal — no manual data entry or re-keying. We test against each schema revision as the department publishes updates.
Does ThynkAudit work without Tally?
Absolutely. You can import a trial balance from Excel or CSV. The Tally auto-detection is a convenience feature for firms using Tally, available via the Electron desktop app on the Firm plan.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is retained for 90 days after cancellation. You can export all working papers, reports, and the audit file ZIP at any time within that window. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted per our data retention policy.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing is approximately 20% cheaper than monthly. The effective monthly rates are: Starter ₹799, Professional ₹1,999, Firm ₹3,999.
Can I add more users than the plan allows?
Yes. Additional users are available at ₹299/user/month on Starter and Professional plans. The Firm plan can accommodate up to 30 users total; contact us for larger teams.
Does ThynkAudit support LLP and partnership audits, or only companies?
ThynkAudit supports statutory audits for companies (Schedule III, CARO 2020) as well as tax audits (Form 3CD) for all assessee types — companies, LLPs, partnerships, and proprietorships. Schedule III features are company-specific by nature.
